About Us
The Capital Seahawks were founded by Tayvon Jackson, a former Division 1 basketball player and Financial Advisor, with co-owner Vanessa Patterson, also a Financial Advisor and Real Estate Agent. Both Tayvon and Vanessa share a vision of bringing professional basketball to their hometown community, fostering unity, and empowering athletes on and off the court.
The “Seahawks” name pays tribute to Maryland’s native bird, symbolizing focus, resilience, and strength—qualities we strive to embody every game. Beyond sportsmanship, we are committed to promoting financial literacy, using the power of sports as a platform to educate, connect, and inspire our community. Through Tayvon’s and Vanessa’s leadership, the Seahawks aim to create a welcoming space where fans of all ages can come together to enjoy the game, grow through learning opportunities, and celebrate community spirit.

Aquille Carr
"The crimestopper"
The Capital Seahawks have bolstered their lineup with the signing of Aquille Carr, famously known as “The Crimestopper” for his thrilling speed, playmaking, and ability to draw fans. Carr’s arrival promises to bring excitement and energy as the Seahawks prepare for their upcoming season in The Basketball League (TBL).
Carr first gained national attention as a high school sensation at Patterson High in Baltimore, where his electrifying style and scoring ability earned him top rankings. Despite standing 5’7″, he became known for his jaw-dropping drives, no-look passes, and unguardable crossovers.
With experience in leagues around the world, including stints in China, Italy, and the NBA G League, Carr has refined his elite skills against top competition. Now, he’s set to bring that expertise and crowd-pleasing style to the Seahawks, creating unforgettable game-day experiences for fans and elevating the team’s competitiveness in TBL.
Brian Bridgeforth
"THE TOWERING PRESENCE"
The Capital Seahawks have bolstered their roster by signing Brian Bridgeforth, a seasoned 6’11” center known for his impressive international basketball resume. Bridgeforth, originally from Washington, D.C., graduated from Washington Adventist University, where he began building the skill set that has seen him become a force on courts around the world. Over the years, he has played for teams in various countries, including stints in Iraq, Oman, Sweden, and South Africa, which have polished his abilities and developed his versatility as a defensive and offensive player
Bridgeforth most recently played in Iraq’s Superleague with Al Kahraba Electricity, where he showcased his scoring and rebounding prowess. His prior season with Al Bashaer in Oman further underlined his impact on the court, as he delivered standout performances, such as scoring 20 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in a single game. His experience and adaptability are expected to make him an influential addition to the Seahawks as they navigate their inaugural season in The Basketball League (TBL)
With his extensive overseas experience, Bridgeforth is set to play a key role in the Seahawks’ debut season, bringing a level of professionalism and skill that promises to elevate the team’s performance in TBL. Chris Braswell
"THE ENFORCER"
The Capital Seahawks are thrilled to announce the signing of Chris Braswell, a 6’10” forward with a remarkable basketball pedigree. Braswell, a Capitol Heights, Maryland native, had a standout collegiate career at Charlotte, where he earned All-Atlantic 10 honors and etched his name among the program’s top performers with over 1,000 career points and nearly 700 rebounds.
Braswell’s professional career spans multiple international leagues, where he continued to shine with his scoring versatility, rebounding prowess, and defensive presence. His extensive experience and elite skills will be key assets for the Seahawks as they prepare for their inaugural season in The Basketball League (TBL). The team and fans alike are eager to witness Braswell’s impact on the court this season.
Christopher Wray
"THE WRAYMAKER" (Playmaker)
Christopher Wray, a former Mount St. Mary’s standout, has officially signed with the Capital Seahawks, a new team competing in The Basketball League (TBL). Known for his defensive prowess, Wray earned the title of Northeast Conference (NEC) Defensive Player of the Year in 2018. During his senior season, he was recognized not only for his defensive skills but also for his versatile contributions, averaging 9.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.1 blocks, and 2.0 steals per game. His athleticism and commitment to a strong all-around game made him a key player at Mount St. Mary’s, where he also achieved Third Team All-NEC honors.
Wray’s professional journey has taken him internationally, where he has gained valuable experience competing in leagues overseas. Most recently, he played in Finland’s First Division, where he showcased his elite skills and adaptability on both ends of the floor. During his time with Kipinä Basket, he reached impressive personal bests, including scoring 23 points and collecting 22 rebounds in single games, solidifying his reputation as a force on the boards and a reliable offensive option.
Now with the Capital Seahawks, Wray brings a wealth of experience, athleticism, and defensive capabilities that are expected to bolster the team’s presence in TBL. His unique combination of collegiate achievements and professional accomplishments abroad is likely to be a significant asset to his new team as they look to make their mark in the league.

JOSH SHELBY

The Capital Seahawks are thrilled to welcome Josh Selby, a dynamic guard and former NBA player, to their roster for the upcoming season in The Basketball League (TBL). Known for his explosive athleticism and scoring ability, Selby brings an impressive basketball pedigree, highlighted by his standout performances at the University of Kansas and his selection as a McDonald’s All-American.
Drafted 49th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2011 NBA Draft, Selby showcased his talent in the NBA Summer League, earning Co-MVP honors alongside Damian Lillard in 2012. His professional journey spans multiple international leagues, including stints in China, Croatia, Israel, and Turkey, where he demonstrated his scoring versatility and court vision.
Selby’s addition strengthens the Seahawks’ backcourt, offering veteran experience and a proven ability to energize both the team and its fanbase. The Seahawks are poised for an electrifying TBL season with Selby’s talent and leadership on board
JULIAN NORFLEET
"J-FLEET"
The Capital Seahawks, a fresh entrant in The Basketball League (TBL), have signed Julian Norfleet, adding a seasoned talent with extensive international experience and a rich college basketball legacy. Known for his agility and scoring ability, Norfleet was a standout at Mount St. Mary’s University from 2010 to 2014, where he earned recognition for his all-around play and was named to the All-NEC Second Team in his senior year. His college career left him fifth on Mount St. Mary’s all-time scoring list and second in assists, highlighting his dual capability as both a scorer and playmaker.
In 2014, Norfleet launched a successful career overseas. He played in multiple European leagues, including stints in Bulgaria, Hungary, Switzerland, and Cyprus, where he proved his mettle with strong performances across the board. Most recently, Norfleet has been playing for APOEL in Cyprus, bringing years of high-level experience back to the United States with his new role on the Seahawks. His ability to lead from the point guard position and his defensive prowess make him a versatile asset to the Seahawks as they gear up for a promising TBL season

Tiwian Kendley
"THE SCORING MACHINE"
Tiwian Kendley, an explosive talent known for his scoring prowess, has signed with the Capital Seahawks, a new team in The Basketball League (TBL). Kendley brings a wealth of experience to the Seahawks, including time with the Washington Wizards and a standout college career at Morgan State University.
Kendley’s journey to professional basketball started with an impressive stint at Morgan State, where he became the fastest player in the school’s Division I history to reach 1,000 career points, averaging 26.1 points per game as a senior. His performances earned him recognition in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), with multiple Player of the Week honors and a place on the All-Tournament Team. After going undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft, Kendley joined the Washington Wizards’ Summer League squad, where his tenacity and skills earned him a spot on the Wizards’ G-League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go, scoring 11.7 points per game in 18 appearances. Kendley’s time with the Wizards also provided valuable mentorship from NBA stars like John Wall, whom Kendley described as a “big brother” figure.
Over the years, Kendley has played internationally, with stints in Mexico, Kosovo, and most recently with the Wisconsin Herd and South Bay Lakers in the NBA G-League. Now joining the Capital Seahawks, Kendley brings not only his on-court talent but also the resilience and life lessons gained from navigating the professional basketball landscape. His addition to the Seahawks is a promising development as the team seeks to establish itself within TBL
