Maurice Creek, a seasoned shooting guard standing at 6’5″, is set to bring his elite scoring ability and sharpshooting prowess to the Capital Seahawks for the upcoming season in The Basketball League (TBL). A native of Oxon Hill, Maryland, Creek’s basketball journey has been marked by resilience and exceptional talent.
Creek began his collegiate career at Indiana University, where he made an immediate impact as a freshman, averaging 17.3 points per game and leading the team in scoring. Despite facing significant injuries that sidelined him for parts of his tenure, he showcased remarkable perseverance and skill. In his senior year at George Washington University, Creek emerged as the team’s leading scorer, averaging 14.1 points per game and earning Third-team All-Atlantic 10 honors.
After going undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft, Creek embarked on an international career, playing across various countries and leagues. His professional stints include teams in the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Israel, and Ukraine, among others. Notably, he played for Kyiv-Basket in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague and Steaua București in Romania.
In 2023, Creek continued to demonstrate his scoring ability with Hamar in Iceland, averaging 18.5 points and 4.1 assists per game over six appearances.
Now, as a member of the Capital Seahawks, Creek is poised to make a significant impact in TBL. His extensive experience and scoring acumen are expected to elevate the team’s performance and provide fans with thrilling basketball action.
